OTR Setup

The OTR engine harnesses the power of Computer Associates’ Open-Ingres (an enterprise level database). It is one of the most manageable databases on the market today and does not require a D.B.A. OTR provides fast and accurate analysis, which is unparalleled.

The user interface is friendly and concise. Choose the instrument, the years and the months to be tested. Specific date ranges for entry and exit days can be selected from the first trading day the options traded to the last day traded.

Hedging is the most critical function for OTR and the system offers tremendous hedging flexibility. The following parameters may be used to create a hedge signal: moving average of the underlying market, specific day of the week or every day of the week and percentage of the delta exposure. The option strategy can be set to hedge automatically or in a manual mode that permits the user to hedge each time an indicator is triggered.

The system also offers the capability of testing any type of strategy for a single instrument. The strategy be set up to have a slippage factor for a more realistic approach to the option trading system. Slippage helps reflect a commission and execution cost for each contract traded.
