Accounting

Accounting in Strategist is essential for understanding the monetary risks involved in the traded positions. Strategist is a mini back-office system. Trades can be settled, exercised or abandoned and the profit/loss can be posted to an account ledger. Strategist was designed to provide traders with the tools necessary to cross the international borders of trading. Strategist provides analysis tools, which correlate with changes in currency and combine the risk factors that a multi-currency portfolio demands.

The Strategist account pages also have individual account P/L ledgers. In these ledgers trade instrument currency will store the equity and balance the activity generated from trading. This P/L editor was created in order to provide a simple method for modifying the account P/L values.

Accounts that use the import utility to update the account trade information will most likely not need to run the trade settlement procedure. The trades imported most likely will only have the active trades remaining and P/L statements. When trades are entered manualy, eventualy an off-setting trade will be entered, or the trade will need to be exercised or abandonded from the account. The Settlement application will process the trades and account for the transactions.

The Account page will be refreshed and recalculated. All trades processed will post a profit or a loss to the balance of the account.
